CANZUK cooperation aims to strengthen economic ties, improve mobility, and deepen collaboration between like minded nations with shared legal systems and values.
The Roadmap for Success
Stage 1
Trade Integration
Reduce tariffs and trade barriers across CANZUK to improve supply chains while protecting local industries. This can be implemented relatively quickly through targeted consultation and appropriate safeguards.
Stage 2
Defence & Security Collaboration
Strengthen cooperation between armed forces, intelligence, and emergency services through joint training, planning, and coordinated responses. Existing ties via Five Eyes, NATO, and joint exercises make initial steps straightforward, though new infrastructure could delay some programmes.
Stage 3
Shared Infrastructure & Research
Promote closer collaboration in science, education, and healthcare through shared research, student exchanges, and joint initiatives. While new infrastructure takes time, short-term progress can rely on existing labs and facilities.
Stage 4
Free Movement
Push for freedom of movement by simplifying visas, protecting workers’ rights, and applying safeguards to uphold local laws and culture. This would likely begin with a Canada–UK agreement, expanding later to Australia and New Zealand. Given political sensitivity, this would be a longer-term and final stage.

Why CANZUK?
In 2022, Russia launched its full scale invasion of Ukraine, bringing armed conflicts back to Europe for the first time since World War 2. In 2025, the re-election of Donald Trump as president of the United States has led to threats of annexation of its long-term ally Canada. With an increasingly hostile China in the Pacific, we need to readily adapt to a new world order. Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom find themselves increasingly vulnerable both politically and militarily, and woefully unprepared. We believe that by forming a confederation between them, built on common language, head of state and as equally economically developed countries provides a unique opportunity for collaboration. By working as partners, we can build an alliance capable of both becoming a pillar of global stability and improving the lives of ordinary CANZUK citizens.
